A Little Pampering

Saturday, September 28, 2013

We took Ava to get her haircut today. It has been a bit straggly, so much in fact that Brian was the one who suggested we take her in. Yeah, it was time. I went online to look up kid friendly hair salons in the Lubbock area and came across one that looked promising. So, Brian and I loaded up both girls and off we went.

Cuts for Kids was by far an excellent choice. Hands down. Not only were they playing Toy Story when we walked in (Ava's face immediately lit up), but they had their chairs made out of cars. She was drawn to Lightning McQueen, a surprising choice.

Ava did great during the entire haircut! She was given a sucker and had Toy Story in view, so life was good. Then, we found out that girl's cuts included nail painting, a ring, sticker, and balloon. Um, awesome! I wasn't sure how Ava would do, since she is a bit of a terror when I try and paint her nails. She surprised me once again, because she did awesome. She seemed to adore the hairdresser, and did everything she said. She picked out a pink polish, held very still when she was getting them painted, and even held her hands out and fingers apart for awhile to let them dry. Um, who taught her that? She kept looking up at me and smiling as she was sitting at the table. A little pampering does the soul good.

Such a girly girl, that one!
