12:40 am - pressure pain started to occur while lying in bed. Lasted for a good two hours making it hard to sleep

3:00 am - woke up Brian once the pain stared to increase. Endured pains for two more hours, debating whether they were true contractions or not. Brian called the hospital to get advice on how to help reduce the pain.

5:00 am - called the hospital again. We were given the go to come in and get checked.

5:40 am - was dilated to a 4 and 95% effaced. The doctor wanted to wait an hour to see if any progress would be made before admitting me.

6:50 am - dilated to a 5. IV was started and the anesthesiologist began preparations for the epidural. Called both sets of parents to let them know that their first granddaugher would be arriving some time that day.

7:30 am - feeling much better with the epidural. I was able to get some rest while Brian went back home to pack the hospital bag and grab some breakfast for himself.

8:25 am - dilated to a solid 6, water was broken by Dr. Thorpe. I am not feeling a thing with the epidural, but starving and wishing I had eaten something before leaving the house early this morning.

10:30 am - dilated to a ten. They will start getting everything ready for delivery once all the anitbiotics are given from teh strep b test!

12:30 pm - ready to start pushing

1:07 pm - Ava is here!

1:20 pm - Grammy and Grandpa Nielsen arrive at the hospital after a long drive from Boise, ID.
