Interview

Friday, July 23, 2010

My husband just received word that he has been invited to his first medical school interview. Way to go, Brian! University of Arizona is interested in him, we are so excited!

Medical applications are pretty extensive, and definitely expensive. They start with a primary application where the applicants send in all of their factual information to the school, such as their name, address, GPA, MCAT scores, and so on. After the schools have looked at this application and the applicants meet their requirements, they then send them a secondary application. That's the application that takes away all our moolah, and where we fill out essays. Tons and tons of essays. Did I mention Brian is applying to 14 schools? Yeah, lots of money and essays. (we keep telling ourselves that it will all be worth it though) So once the secondary application is turned in, the next step is the interview process. Then as early as October we can know whether Brian has been accepted or not.  He interviews with U of A on September 13th, cross your fingers for us!

I'll keep you all informed about the whole process and what we hear. The next few months are going to be busy ones for us.

Wow! Way to go Brian! :) This is Krista (Call) Nielsen...Brian and I grew up together in Flagstaff. Anyway, we are living in Tucson right now and we love it :) And my brother-in-law just graduated from UofA med school and really liked the program. So if he wants to talk to someone about their program let me know, he's a really nice guy. Anyway, our blog is private, but if you want to check it out...send me your e-mail to krista.nielsen@yahoo.com and I'll add you! Again, congrats Brian!!
