Twin Falls.

This past weekend Brian and I loaded up my dear old Ruby and took off for Idaho. What a great getaway. We both needed to escape Utah one last time before getting in too deep with school, so off we went! We stayed at my Aunt Sondra’s house and enjoyed puttering around, helping her in whatever way we could for the wedding reception there in December. (that open house is going to be so cute, by the way).
We knew the wedding was a go, but Colin still hadn’t proposed. We got word that Colin was proposing to his girlfriend, Whitney Saturday night. It was finally going to be official. Only a few hours after he popped the big question, the happy couple also arrived in Twin to spend the weekend with everyone, what a treat! Her ring is BEAUTIFUL and I can’t wait to see how everything comes together (especially since now I get to enjoy the reception a bit and not be the center of attention).
We had the chance to also hang out with my cousin, Becky and her cute little family. She has three little kids; Cooper (8), Lilly(5), and Clayton (3). They are so adorable and definitely spiced up our weekend. Oh, and did you all see that amaaazing football game? Holy cow. My husband was a maniac during that whole thing. I think he scared poor Clayton a few times. The little guy would always look at me when Brian would get up and celebrate by whooping and hollering, and give me a questioning look like “Is everything okay??” It was hilarious.
On Sunday night, after a delicious Thanksgiving-like feast, we went out in Becky’s backyard and roasted marshmallows and made smore’s. YUM! It made me want to go camping so bad! Hopefully next summer… The next day we ventured out the Twin Falls county fair. Oh my, now there is a place where you can find some very interesting redneck-like individuals. Colin said it perfectly, “Well Brian, you’ll soon see that some people save up all year for this..” We had a blast taking the kids to see all of the animals and riding a few rides. Brian and Whitney are both somewhat afraid of heights, so riding the ferris wheel was a big step for them. I had fun rocking our seat a bit, which Brian hated…he’ll soon get over it :)
It good to be back home, but I’m not looking forward to getting back into the grind of everything. Goodbye my sweet summer days…
