Idaho Road Trip

So this weekend I was able to take another road trip to Idaho to see my wonderful family. :) My little cousin, Cooper was getting baptized, so we loaded up the car Friday afternoon and were on our way! Of course I couldn't go alone...so I brought my favorite roommate, Nicole and my boyfriend, Brian. It was Brian's frist time meeting my family so he was quite nervous on making that first impression (it also happened to be his birthday that day, bless his heart).

We arrived in Idaho around 7 that evening to be greeted by little Miss Lilly her adorable little brother, Clayton. The whole family at my Aunt's house (11 people to be exact) and so it was quite a gathering. I could smell scones right as we walked in the door, which made my mouth absolutely start to water! (my uncle is famous for his scones so it was quite a treat). After dinner it was time to celebrate Brian's 22nd birthday. My mom had made him a raspberry cheescake and found the cutest candles - seriously, check them out. While enjoying the festivities my father decided it was time to embarrass my poor guy by having all the guys in the family join him in song...like I said, poor guy. He took it quite well though :)

Saturday morning we all woke up to a bustling house, everyone was busily getting ready for Mr. Cooper's baptism that morning. We all got out of the house and arrived at the church in time to find out that the font was EMPTY. Not good. Just to put the situation in perspective, it takes about 3 hours to fill up that thing, yeah...NOT good. Well, we decided to roll with the punches. We laughed at the situation and decided it made a pretty good story. We then realized we had yet another barrier standing in our way. The closet that had all the baptismal clothes in it was locked. Yes, locked. So all the men gathered together to try and pick the lock on the door - no such luck. Im not going to lie, it was pretty entertaining to watch though :) haha.

Then around 11:00 the font was full enough and Lance and Cooper were in their white jumpsuits, it had acutally all come together :) It was such a beautiful service, I was so glad to be there! I was surrounded by all the people I love (minus a few) and the spirit there was so strong.

After the baptism, Colin (cousin), Nicole (roommate), Chase (brother), Brian and I all went snowmobiling up in the mountains. It was SO fun! All I can say is that Colin is ridiculous and I almost died. By the end of the trip I was exhausted and slept pretty much the whole way home. That night we all gathered around to have the typical family conversation. We played "Arted", the famous mexican horse race, and Brian happed to be "Arted" (it was hilarous). After a few hours of reminiscing on old memories, we all crashed after a very long and busy day.

Sunday morning was yet another busy day full bustling bodies trying to get ready as fast as possible. We made it to church on time and enjoyed a wonderful Sacrament Meeting at Becky and Lance's ward. After church we all went home to take a quick nap before going over to Grandma and Grandpa's to enjoy a Sunday brunch. It's Grandma's birthday on the 8th so we had a early celebration for her! She was dying to go to Outback, so off to Outback we went!

The food was delicious and the company was even better :) We then went home on full stomaches to watch the SUPERBOWL. It was quite an interesting game... my dear Brian is a die hard Cardinals fan, while my cousin Lance is the same way, just with the Steelers. So of course there was a bit of trash talk going on, but I thought it just made the evening that much more entertaining :) Brian of course was disappointed to see his Cardinals lose, but oh well I guess. After the game we made the 4 hour car ride back to Provo, UT to face school and work the next day. Overall, it was an amazing weekend. My family loved Brian, and so many wonderful memories were made. Im so grateful to have such an amazing family who loves and cares about me, and the events going on in my life...they are truly wonderful!
